Learn About John Jay Myers

Husband, father, and successful small business owner in South Dallas, I never really had an interest in politics until recently. Years of war, incompetence, waste, fraud, and abuse of power inspired my awakening, and I came to the core belief that the people should always restrain their government by obeying the Constitution and holding their representatives accountable to it.

For every single piece of legislation, we should ask ourselves: Do we have the constitutional authority to do this? Is it just? Does it treat people fairly? What are the consequences to others?

It seems like the people in my district are getting less and less, but Washington wants to keep doing more and more, at our expense. This cycle of exploitation must stop now.

Past injustice should never be used as an excuse to grant government even more power, for clearly the escalation of government intervention as we swing back and forth from one expansionary regime to another has resulted in severe consequences, both in our own lives and throughout world. The dangers of tolerating coercion are too close to home to remain idle any longer, and that is why I am running for Congress in 2010 - for my family, for our community, for all Americans.

Biography

Born and raised in the heart of Missouri, the youngest of 9 children. I grew up in a small tourist town known as Lake of the Ozarks. I was very into music and business (even as a kid). I went to School there 4 years, majoring in Business Management, with an emphasis in human resources. My Junior year I was selected to be a Resident Assistant, 117 people had applied for 11 available slots, and there was a grueling 2 day selection process, I was proud to be one of those selected.

I moved to Florida after college to pursue my interest in music, among other things. I moved to Dallas in 1994, and realizing music wasn't going to pay the bills, I started looking for other employment.

In 1997 I started working at Today's Digitizing in Dallas, after working there 6 years and eventually managing the company, I went on to start my own company. Since 2003 I have grown www.clearsky24.com from my 400 square foot apartment working by myself to a 9000 square foot building with 10 employees here in North Texas. I am proud of it.
